Dealer Alternative Auto Care has worked on my car twice this year, and both experiences have been excellent. The first time, they handled an oil change and provided great customer service from the moment I arrived—this was a few months ago. Most recently, on 11/12/2025, I contacted them again about an oil leak on my 2015 Ford Mustang GT Premium. They scheduled me for the very next day, completed a full diagnostic, clearly explained the issue, and provided an estimate along with a return date. Throughout the entire process, they stayed in constant communication, and I’m very happy they were able to fix my car and get me back on the road. I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a reliable auto shop in San Marcos.

We've had 4 different vehicles repaired/serviced at Dealer Alternative ( '69 Pontiac GTO, '18 Silverado, '14 Jeep SRT & '18 BMW B7) and they've been absolutely incredible with every vehicle. The staff is terrific; they are communicative, friendly and knowledgeable. I've always been given a detailed estimate before work commences which always coincides with the work done. If more work has been necessary (a rarity) that work is documented, explained and approved before it begins. The shop dog is an incredibly friendly chap who likes to be recognized as an integral part of the team. This is literally a dream shop and they care about their performance and your experience.
